Service Description

Use of the PJYC mooring at Block Island is limited to members only. A member in good standing must be present on his or her boat while using this mooring. The PJYC burgee MUST be flown by the member’s vessel while on the mooring. Rafting MUST be permitted but is limited to no more than three (3) vessels. No unoccupied vessel shall be left overnight on this mooring except in an emergency. Length of stay shall not exceed seven (7) consecutive nights. The member shall vacate the mooring on the 8th consecutive day for at least 1 day. The mooring must be vacated by 12 noon on the day of departure (not day of use).


Cancellation Policy

A $20.00 fee will be charged per day for the use of the mooring. Advanced reservations (defined as no more than two weeks), require a $20.00 deposit for the first night. If a member signs up but does not use the mooring, the $20.00 fee may be used for a future trip or, to help offset the cost of the mooring’s usage and maintenance fees. Members are encouraged to check the weather and to think about Captain and vessel ability before signing up in advance. PJYC policy states that the BLOCK ISLAND MOORING IS FOR USE BY ALL MEMBERS ON A "FIRST COME” BASIS. Reservation Logbook and Mooring Fees. There is a Block Island mooring logbook in the clubhouse which all members MUST sign as the Club is required to submit this logbook to the Block Island Harbor Master. A small stamped brown envelope will be provided and attached to each logbook page. The $20.00 cash payment for each day or for an advance reservation should be put inside the labeled envelope and placed in the black B.I. Mooring cash box located near the ice cash box before you leave for the Block Island mooring. (Example 3 days = $60.00 into the envelope). The logbook should be updated with any reservation changes. Additional Days and Vessel Documentation. If you decide to stay an extra day, and there is room for you please adjust the logbook and payment upon return. All members must fill out and sign this logbook prior to using the Block Island mooring for every trip. However, signing the logbook does not guarantee the use of the mooring. Finally, members may only use the Block Island mooring if they have previously submitted their vessel’s current insurance certificate and copy of the current boat registration or federal documentation certificate.
